a friggin hawk captured and killed a pigeon in the street in front of my apartment today. then this badass bird flew the dead pigeon up into the trees and started having it for lunch. it was like watching the discovery channel in real life. he was pretty much almost done eating by the time i got to snap these. for all you bird fans, my next door neighbors identified this as a Sharp-shinned hawk (aka the badass pigeon hunting hawk from Venice)

that's so cool that you captured that moment! i used to hand feed sick hawks :) and they are my spirit guides. i love 'em.
