Catacombes de Paris
deep underneath Paris are the bones of roughly 6 million Parisians, a whole city of the dead...and YPM got a first hand look at what the fuss is all about.
but after a narrow endless spiral staircase dropping 65 feet under the city, things get pretty surreal. the whole place is combination of eerie/awesome/spectacular...eersometacular...i've never seen anything like it...the meticulously stacked bone piles stretch out through a labyrinth of tunnels for 300 kilometers (that's 186 miles of tunnel)
it's so quiet you can hear it.
the part that you're able to walk for the tour is about a mile and you're 9 blocks away from the entrance when you exit the "Empire of the Dead"

Montmartre has a lot of poop
ventured into the Montmartre district of Paris today...the hills there remind me of SF. it's where you'll find the Moulin Rouge show, the Sacré Coeur church on top of a huge hill, and lots of places that were filmed for the movie Amelie, including the cafe where she worked where i had some coffee.
i've also found out that Parisians don't really pick up after their dogs because there is dog shit...everywhere.

Paris part deux
bonjour,
day two: made our way to check out Champs Elysees, the busiest street in Paris. it's there where i got to try macaroons from the Laduree pastry place. the Arc de Triomphe is on the same street...then hopped on the metro to the Eiffel Tower...the tower is HUGE. it's a lot taller in person. decided to walk halfway up, which seemed like a fun idea when we were at the bottom...but about 50 flights up i started to wish we took the elevator. the view from the top is sooooo coooooool. you can see all of Paris. more pics are on my fbook album of the trip...

Bonjour!
YPM arrived in Paris today...what a dope city. Mel gave me a tour of the town and we ended up at the Louvre, saw the Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo. still jet lagged since my flight over was pretty rough. i've only been here a day and there was so much to see. this city is amazing. i snapped a bunch of pics but i'm tired so here are photos from the Louvre museum. more to come...

Betty Brown really grinds my gears
this bitch is Betty Brown...
for those who don't know, this Republican House Rep from Texas is suggesting that Asian-descent voters (even 2nd and 3rd generation AMERICAN BORN CITIZENS) should adopt names that are "easier for Americans to deal with"
and she's talking about Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc...she states that rather than having everyone learn Chinese, if "we" and "our citizens" could change our names to something easier for people here in the states to deal with.
OUR CITIZENS? WTF...like we're not equal in some way? WE HAVE THE SAME CITIZENSHIP DUMBASS...
you're like that old white lady that told me i could make sushi when she saw me and my friends fishing. you idiots.
